Old Vineyard’s Adult Program is an acute inpatient psychiatric program designed for adults, ages 18 and over, who are at risk of harm to themselves or others, require crisis intervention, stabilization or detoxification, and are unable to function in a less restrictive setting.  Patient safety is a priority, and our staff is trained to follow specific procedures to ensure a safe environment for all patients.

Our integrated program is designed to effectively treat a wide range of psychiatric and behavioral issues.  Individualized treatment plans are developed based on each patient's case history and data gathered from in-depth evaluations and assessments conducted during the initial assessment process.  Staff members from a number of disciplines cooperate to develop and work toward the success of this individualized treatment plan for each patient.

Old Vineyard’s Adult Program’s approach is holistic in nature and we make every effort possible to assist each patient with connection with natural supports in the community in addition to those of a professional nature. The program uses individual, group and family psychotherapy, expressive therapy, recreation therapy, cognitive/behavioral techniques, psycho-educational groups, and pharmacology. Specialty groups and consultations are also added to the treatment plan, when indicated and ordered by the attending physician.

Referral sources are kept informed of the patient's progress from admission through discharge - because the continuity of care is critical to treatment success. After-care services are coordinated with the referring professional. In the absence of a professional contact, every effort is made to obtain services in the community to which the patient will be returning.
